Ben Diller received his MFA from UC Davis in 2002 in Studio Art, with an emphasis on Sculpture and Installation. He received his BFA from The Cleveland Institute of Art in 1992, with a major in Painting and minor in Sculpture. He works across various disciplines such as: drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and installation. His projects are informed by observation, memory, and physical forms found and fabricated from the environment. His work creates a dialogue, through the use of craft and juxtaposition, by presenting forms that can be perceived for their aesthetic or implied functional elegance.
He and his wife, Cynthia Giachetti, have been active, artistic collaborators since 2009. They have exhibited their projects at various venues, such as: Project Row Houses in Houston, TX; Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans; LSU Museum of Art in Baton Rouge, LA; Bellevue Arts Museum in Seattle, WA; and Arkansas Tech. University in Russellville, AR. He completed residencies at Sculpture Space in Utica, New York and Vermont Studio Center and has received grants from Southeastern Louisiana University, Louisiana Division of the Arts and Ohio Arts Council. He is currently an Instructor & Undergraduate Coordinator in the Dept. of Visual Art + Design at Southeastern Louisiana University.
