Overview
Jennifer Coates received a BFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art and an MFA from Hunter College, New York, NY. Recent solo exhibitions include Lesser Gods of Lakewood, PA, High Noon, New York, NY, Pagan Forest, Knauer Gallery, West Chester University, West Chester, PA, Toxic Halo, High Noon, New York, NY, Correspondences, Freight and Volume Gallery, New York, NY, and Carb Load, at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA. She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions such as Further In Summer Than the Birds, Platform Project Space, Brooklyn, NY, Painting the Narrative, National Arts Club, New York, NY, Animal Crossing, Inman Gallery, Houston, TX, Winter Picnic, SFA Projects, New York, NY, and A La Carte, University of Alabama at Birmingham. In 2021 she revived the John Koch Award in Art, American Academy of Arts and Letters NYFA Award in Painting.
