Daniel B. Dias (b. 1987) is a Brazilian American painter. Dias earned his BFA in 2010 from Ringling College of Art and Design and embarked on his first journey to China, lasting 6 years. In 2018, he received his MFA at the University of Delaware and chose to go back to China for another round of culture shock. As a native or near-native of Brazil, the USA, and China, and a tourist in each as well, his paintings revolve around his multi-cultural history. The amalgamation of these cultural shifts composes a hybrid of societal values and Dias questions these contradictions of identity where cultural lines blur. Dias has exhibited throughout the United States and China.
