TABBY BOOTH
Tabby Booth is a British artist, illustrator and curator based in Cornwall. Known for her distinctive silhouette style, her work treads a captivating line between contemporary illustration and traditional folk art painting, threaded with themes of beasts, folklore and the sea.
Tabby has collaborated with leading international brands across fashion, interiors and design, applying her distinctive visual language to collections ranging from textiles and wallpaper to objects and apparel. She is the co-founder of Sailor’s Jail Gallery, and her original paintings are exhibited and collected internationally.
"The best things in life are about contrast, and for me, nothing looks better on a wall than that rich, bold silhouette. It works in any size, on any color, and just as well on its own as combined with other styles and textures. It has the power to transform the character of a space. I love to play around with the juxtaposition of something that looks like an ancient relic, yet with a naive and whimsical element that doesn’t take itself too seriously."

Created exclusively for MEPAINTSME in Tabby’s distinctive silhouette, LA CARA is a collection of small works taking inspiration from folkloric masks from around the world: the faces that hide our faces. Made to hang on the wall like small guardians, each one silently watches over the space and those who occupy it.
