Yolanda Shashaty’s work has always been a combination of nature and abstraction, not anchored by any realistic perspective. Her paintings come from her imagination, often featuring unusual celestial and planetary events. With this invented imagery, she transports us to another world of seemingly limitless dimensions - a place she might rather be. Shashaty began her career in Washington, D.C. where her work was featured in the New Directions show at the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. She’s exhibited her work in numerous solo and group shows in New York, Brooklyn and Washington, DC. Yolanda received her BA in Painting at Oberlin College, Oberlin, Ohio and her MA from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
