Jennifer Caroline Campbell graduated from the Slade School of Fine Art in 2014 with an MFA in painting and a full AHRC scholarship. In 2008 she graduated from Norwich University of the Arts with a BFA in sculpture. Solo exhibitions include GLAMOROUS at Outpost Gallery Norwich, Cake Options and Escape Options at Transition Projects, Ever After Slices at Atalante Gothenburg and Power Puff Princess at Marcell Joseph Projects London. Recent group exhibitions include Flat Volume at A.P.T Gallery London, Blusher at Leicester Gallery (Leicester), The Look at Transition Projects London and Witch Marks at The Minories Colchester. Jennifer’s practice digests and regurgitates ideas around fluid identity and transformative behaviours, especially those with potential to dismantle hierarchies and societal norms. Teenage, fantastical, girly, mythological, camp and psychedelic fragments intersect with speculative fears, fictions and hopes around biodiversity and human relations. Textures and stories build up like lumpy eyeshadow, surfaces become encrusted, soaked and slathered. Multicoloured slices oscillate shiftily between flat picture and lumpy thing.
