Robin Gammons is a Canadian American painter and ceramicist. She grew up in the copper mining town of Butte, Montana — a world of contrasts where the beauty of Big Sky Country meets man-made destruction inherent in mining. She is interested in the abstraction that occurs when the studies of art, science, spirituality, and philosophy encounter the unknowable. In her painting, the sky makes for endless image-making fodder-the sky as a world that links all people and places, filled with phenomena that can give us access to the divine. A place where the familiar and the esoteric exist simultaneously.
