Sarah Lee (born 1980) is a self-taught Irish artist who grew up in London. She describes her works as portals into another world that could exist halfway between a dream and reality -- the past, the present and the future. Many of her paintings are based on dark, humorous responses to personal experiences, isolation (both self inflicted and imposed) and cautionary tales in response to her fears for humanity. Sarah thinks of every painting as a glimpse into a short story, for which the viewer can only imagine what might have happened before or after. She has started to exhibit her work for the first time in 2023, with groups shows in Sete, France; London, UK; and San Diego, United States. Sarah also works full time as a nurse in a therapeutic community hospital, and specialises in the treatment of people with complex trauma and psychosis.
