Erekle Chinchilakashvili (1992, Tbilisi) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Budapest. The young Georgian artist attempts to explore the human condition's fragility, constant flux, and transformation through art-making. Chinchilakashvili is active in different fields of media, such as painting, installation, and video. His work draws upon themes of memory distortion, cultural heritage, and anthropology. The artist digs for sources deep within his consciousness. He attempts to revive images and memories that are faded and "out of context" to create new constellations here and now. While doing so, Chinchilakashvili is aware that "the mechanisms behind our constantly transforming perception decide on their own which memories get remembered by our conscious mind and which ones float in the deeper waters of our psyche."
