Joseba Eskubi graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of the Basque Country, where he currently teaches as a professor in the Department of Painting. He lives and works in Bilbao, Spain.
Joseba Eskubi's painting evokes landscapes and imaginary figures, a universe in constant metamorphosis where different elements transform and reveal their pictorial materiality. The bodies emerge from the background like paralyzed specters in that dreamlike space, everything is still and expectant.
Joseba Eskubi generally works in series, producing an obsessive mosaic of images that create a sensation of mystery and strangeness where the painting flows into multiple possibilities.
